The Payak organizing committee is honouring one of its founding volunteers, Margot Murdoch, who died in August 2024 after a battle with ovarian cancer.

Margot dedicated countless hours to supporting Payak and high level racing events at Whistler Olympic Park. She organized the athlete’s banquet for Ski Nationals in 2013, and was event chair for the Western Canadian Championships in 2016. Margot always knew the best prizing to arrange for the young athletes. She liked to volunteer in race office or on the timing team so she could watch her family race (and often podium). Her big smile, laugh, and can-do attitude are greatly missed by all of us who worked with her over the years.
Please help us reach the goal set by her family of $5,000 to support the Canadian Cancer Society in the fight against cancer, which dimmed Margot’s light far too soon.
