We are excited to announce that Coast Outdoors is the new title sponsor for the best loppet in the Pacific Northwest, the P’ayakensut or Payak, at Whistler Olympic Park. The Coast Outdoors P’ayakensut will continue to be organized by volunteers from Callaghan Valley Cross Country (CVXC).
Coast Outdoors is located at 352 Lynn Avenue in North Vancouver and was previously known as Deep Cove Outdoors. Same great owners and staff, just a new name, to better reflect the location (not actually in Deep Cove) and what they provide in the store – Nordic gear, clothing and equipment to facilitate playing in the great outdoors of western BC.
Our remaining key sponsors – Salomon, Nesters, Fischer and Swix – are also continuing to support this growing and exciting, all ages and abilities cross country loppet!
Course Changes – We are always striving for perfection so the 50 km course has been amended. It now goes up Norwegian Woods instead of the Lunch Lake Trail. Click here to see the full course change details and course maps.
New for 2018 – To reward those skiers who come just for the fun, there will be an IDEAL prize in the 15, 30 and 50 km distances for the skier who is closest to the average time.
The Salomon Raffle is Back – For $5 you get 1 in 250 chances to win – amazing odds!
You will never get tired of wearing this Sigge’s Payak swag! That’s because it has a side for each mood – feeling a little conservative and wanting a quiet ski? The teal blue side is for you. Want to let your freaky flag fly around on the trails? Flip it over to the funky repeated crest design from the folks at Buff! The first 600 registered 15/30/50 km loppet skiers and 100 volunteers for the 2018 Payak will receive one.
